Weighing in at 0.7 oz, it measures approx 2 in by 2 in and has a roll-over safety clasp on the back, ensuring secure and comfortable wear. *** A BIT ABOUT TRIFARI *** Considered a “founding father” of costume jewelry, the Trifari jewelry brand was created by Gustavo Trifari Sr. and Leo F. Krussman in 1918 and later added a third partner, Carl Fishel. In 1930, Trifari hired Alfred Philippe as head designer, and that is when the company really began to take off. Philippe’s background in designing very high-end fine jewelry for firms like Cartier, Van Cleef, and Arpels brought the company a wonderful sense of luxury and style. Pieces by Philippe are highly sought after and have recently increased in price. Trifari ceased production in 1999. In 2000, the company was sold to Liz Claiborne, and production was moved overseas.
