Fender’s Custom Shop 1959 Stratocaster Heavy Relic is a masterfully crafted guitar that oozes vintage mojo. Coated in an aged Chocolate 3-Color Sunburst finish and fit with hand-wound Texas Special pickups, this Fender Custom Shop is nearly indistinguishable from a genuine ’59 Strat that’s been well-worn, well-gigged, and well-loved. This Fender Custom Shop ’59 Strat features a heavy relic finish, giving it the appearance of a decades-old Strat that’s seen extensive play from a life of active gigging. Complete with severe dings and intense discoloration, this axe boasts the hearty aesthetic of a battle-hardened workhorse. It also plays impeccably, courtesy of its ’60 Style Oval “C” shaped worn maple neck that fits the hand perfectly – not too thick, not too thin, just right for everything from gentle chording to dexterous lead work. Built with a solid alder body, this Custom Shop Strat projects that iconic Fender tone, with pronounced upper mids, excellent sustain, and a sharp attack. Its maple neck and authentic rosewood fingerboard combine to add extra articulation and ‘snap’ to your playing, making it cut through the mix exceptionally well. The real sonic magic, though, is in the trio of hand-wound Texas Special pickups powering this beast. These pickups pump out tight lows, a chirping midrange, and crystal-clear highs, giving them that classic Strat sound with a little extra ‘oomph’ for authentic Texas-Blues tones.
