Swingline, Acco, and Bates Staplers Lot Description Up for sale is a lot of three staplers. Included in this lot is a black Swingline stapler, a red and grey Bates 66F hand stapler, and a black ACCO stapler. These items were all sitting on a shelf for the past unknown number of years (possibly decades even) and have all collected quite a bit of dust on them. I’m recently in the middle of a massive spring cleaning and really don’t have any use for these items as I have other substitutes lying around. They have all been cleaned up as best as I could possibly dust them and could use a further deeper clean if need be. All of the staplers included in this lot appear to accept regular sized staples… none of them appear to be mini staplers. They are all empty, so you will need to purchase some staples for them to function. The red and grey bates stapler exhibits the most wear in this lot; as the grey finish has flaked off at one point and revealed some signs of oxidation. I took an abrasive pad on a rotary polishing tool to it and was slightly successful in cleaning it up a bit, but it still needs a lot of work to be restored back to its original appearance, or it can simply be used as is. I do seem to remember that at one point some Elmer’s glue accidentally spilled into this stapler; which caused the spring mechanism to get jammed, but years later that mechanism was doused with WD-40 in order to lubricate it again and it now seems to work a little better. It’s possible that a further touch of mechanical oil can be used here to make its operation a lot quicker and smoother. This stapler is a little over 4 & 3/4″ lengthwise, about 1″ wide (or a bit less than that) and is about 2 & 3/8″ tall when fully extended/opened wide, that is. The model number on this one is printed on the bottom arched base… it’s a model 88F hand grip stapler, made by the Bates Manufacturing, Co. in Orange, N.J., U.S.A. The other two staplers are a black Swingline stapler which has a removable rubber base/foot at the bottom of it… and inside of that rubber base is a white factory stamped number that reads 02871. I can’t seem to find any specific model number imprinted elsewhere on this stapler, but it’s very compact; measuring approximately 5″ (or just a hair under that) in overall length and about 1 & 9/16″ in width. Its height is roughly 2″ at its highest arc; which is located towards the front of the stapler. This Swingline stapler has a black matte type of finish on it as well. It may need a bit of cleaning/polishing in order to restore it to its former glory. And finally, the other stapler in this lot, which is an ACCO (stamped on the front) model 55 (a product of Taiwan; as it is written at the very bottom of the stapler). This stapler measures approximately 5.5″ in length and about 1 & 1/4″ width-wise. Its height is about 2 & 3/16″ at its highest point; which is towards the front of the stapler. This stapler has a black glossy finish on it; but has a few areas that are slightly scratched/scuffed up; such as on the upper left side of it (where there must have been another tool or object of some kind that rubbed up against it while it was in storage or being used in a school backpack or something back in the day).
