This ebay Buy-It-Now offering provides all the above shown parts to tune up your Snap on IM1800 or IM1800L 1″ drive impact wrench. You cannot buy this kit from Snap on. You cannot find somebody else on the internet offering this kit. It is unique and custom designed by me to economically restore your ailing IM1800 tool back to OEM quality performance. Provided in this lot are as shown above and stated below. Note my exceptions as stated: IM1800-2…………..as the throttle valve pin o’ring. This o’ring needs to be installed on the pin, lubed and patiently inserted into the handle bore when finally installed. Avoid chipping this o’ring but if you do there is a second one in the kit. Sometimes a slight bevel made on the sharp edge of the pin hole in the handle helps this installation achieve better results. IM1800-4…………..the OEM polyurethane semi-sphere or mushroom throttle valve is obsolete. It was $40 when last offered by Snap On. If your old IM1800-4 sphere is still sealing properly then use the new OEM IM1800-5 throttle valve spring I provide. If your OEM TV sphere is not sealing then use the black ball (new modified part IM1800-4A and lighter shorter spring new modified part IM1800-5A) I provide as the alternative. Do not use the OEM black heavy and longer black OEM throttle valve spring because the throttle system will not work and seal as designed. This is no other throttle valve kit made by anybody else to keep this fine old tool working as designed. Please note my second avatar photo insert above for clarification to my statements made here. Use the parts exactly as I have them drawn out and located. I precision drilled a small index hole in the new black replacement ball(s) I provide. That hole is a tight fit onto the small dowel end of the IM1800-3 TV pin. The small black o’ring IM1800-2 fits onto the TV shaft to seal it into the handle housing bore. Make sure to thoroughly clean the handle internal air passages during any tool repairs. Focus on dirt and grit removal with brake cleaner to allow smooth sliding movement of the throttle valve pin in the bore with the newly installed o’ring. Replace the throttle pin if there is a obvious wear pattern on the side of the pin. Look carefully at the pin end which contacts the trigger inside the handle. There are no new triggers available. The handle grip is also changed with the trigger. Failure to do these things may cause the throttle valve system to pass air and leak uncontrollably. Add clean lube to the TV pin and be careful not to twist the thin sealing o’ring on the IM1800-7 hose adapter when reinstalling it. Avoid chipping this o’ring but if you do there is a second one in the kit. Sometimes a slight bevel made on the sharp edge of the throttle pin hole in the handle helps this installation achieve better results. At my option I will add an extra throttle valve ball for future emergency repairs. 3 to 4 ounces of 30 weight non-detergent oil or Snap On Redline oil is the OEM recommended lube for the hammer parts. Any questions about this? Email me and we can talk it over.When servicing the reverse valve spool o’rings follow these suggestions for best results. I now provide a new replacement reverse lever screw and 3 o’rings for this job. If the spool is hard to remove avoid scratching it or grabbing it with pliers. Instead remove the reverse lever and screw then attach an airline and pull the trigger. The spool will fly out or at least slowly release from the tool handle. Catch the spool in a rag to prevent it from being damaged on your concrete floor. Use 3M abrasive cloth to polish the valve spool and fully smoothe the part. You should be able to install the finished spool with light oil and a test fit without o’rings. It must slide and rotate easily. If the spool is warped it is from the over tightening of the reverse lever retaining screw. This reverse lever screw must be installed with the blue loctite I now provide and 2 foot pounds of torque. If this screw is too tight the spool will bend and bind in the handle. Also make sure to lube the 1/8″ spring and ball in the OEM reverse lever. The finished installation should be a smoothe floating operation of the reverse lever and detent unit. Make sure to fully clean the dirt and grit from the handle to allow the detent to release, slide and lock into place. A drop of blue loctite placed on the screw threads and the hex head inside the reverse lever will hold your 2 foot pound torque setting while avoiding the bending / binding of the reverse valve spool. This screw must not be too tightly installed. IM1800-6…………..as the air inlet bushing o’ring seal. Teflon sealing tape of 1 to 2 tightly installed wraps is not required but can help the o’ring seal. A drop of lightly applied thread lubricant is recommended to prevent galling and pulling the handle threads. Be careful to adjust tightening torque applied to the inlet bushing so as to establish proper sealing without over stressing (stretching) the aluminum handle threads. REDUCE tightening torque numbers whenever thread lubricants are applied. Lubricants add mechanical leverage to tightening torque so think about being a total professional mechanic when doing this task. Use proper sockets and wrenches with flank drive and avoid using crescent wrenches or channellock pliers. The hose inlet will be costly to replace when making stupid mistakes performing this simple task. You are working with some obsolete parts. IM1800-8…………..as o’rings for the reverse regulator valve. There is 1 extra o’ring in the custom kit I make that can be substituted in place of either o’rings. I do this because the reverse valve sleeve is very tight to install and remove. See above recommendations for this task. IM1800-16…………as the handle gasket. I provide 4 new screws for this part of the job if your old screw heads are worn or damaged. A drop of blue loctite per screw is recommended after threads are cleaned with brake cleaner, air pressure and or a 6mm X 1.0 chaser die. Remove the old blue loctite inside the tool housing for best results. IM1800-17…………as both rotor support bearings. Open bearings are shown but I may provide bearings with side seals that can be removed if the end user prefers open style. IM1800-19…………as the 6 rotor vane set. 6) Snap on rotor vanes list for $63 plus $14.95 UPS ground shipping charges plus applicable state sales tax. My custom made vanes are USA made from a very reliable supplier who is not a Snap on dealer. IM1800-24…………as the o’ring for the front plate. IM1800-25…………as the air motor oil seal. I may provide 1 of 2 different oil seal styles for this part. IM1800-37…………as the o’ring provided for a tight anvil retaining ring grip. IM1800-38…………as the 1/2″ drive anvil socket retaining ring. IM1800-40…………as the clutch case o’ring. I provide 4 new screws for this part of the job if your old screw heads are worn or damaged. A drop of blue loctite per screw is recommended after threads are cleaned with brake cleaner, air pressure and or a 6mm X 1.0 chaser die.
