untitled Set of 2 Antique 1683 Alain Manesson Mallet Framed Color Prints Moon & Sunrise This is a very cool set of two professionally matted and framed original copper engraved illustrations from Description de L’Univers by Alain Manesson Mallet. Both of these prints are in nice condition. The colors are vivid with little to no fading. I’ve provided both scans of the prints as well as photographs. The scans are probably the best representations of their appearance. One of the prints depicts the moon and the other depicts shooting stars at sunrise. Some of the photographs have reflective glare due to the use of a flash with the camera. These prints measure 6 7/8 inches in height and just under 4 inches in width. The frames measure 14 inches by 12 1/4 inches. When I purchased these pieces. They were framed under plexiglass. The plexiglass was somewhat scratched up and had to be removed for photography. As a result, I can offer these with or without the frames. I think the guilded frames, as well as the custom matting, are beautiful but it will probably cost a little more to ship. I will leave that decision up to the buyer. Also, there are a couple of minor dings to one of the frames(see pic). I don’t consider them a problem, but it might be something to consider as well.
