The box had been opened as it was heavily taped up. One of the tabs that hold the water reservoir to the machine was broken. There was a crack in the reservoir near the broken tab. Therefore the water reservoir wasn’t held properly. Also, the side panel was off revealing the wiring, etc. I returned that one and ordered the cheaper black one. It arrived in good shape, nothing broken (a low bar!). So far it works very well – nice espresso, great lattes, and recyclable pods! I don’t have to worry about consuming plastic (a la Keurig). One can mail Nespresso the spent aluminum pods, which is a real plus.
