Each Gurkha Carries with him in uniform and it Battle. This is a peaceful all purpose knife of the hilly people of Nepal, which represents an exquisite piece of Nepalese Craftsmanship. You are bidding on Brand New 13″ Long Gurkha WW I Sirupate Kukri 13″ Carbon Steel Blade, Rose wood handle & Sheath This is new innovation of Mine. WW I sirupate kukri base on World war i shape. This new design kukri made for especially hand to hand combat. The knife derives its name from “Siru” which is a slender and narrow type of a leaf. Hence it is called Sirupate Khukuri. Its looks like exactly the same one which is “SIRU”. It’s very sharp. A basic cutting tool that can be used for just about anything, one that comes very handy far out in the woods and even at your own backyard. Its blade is more curve than to Sirupate series blade and not as wide as other knives. The sheath is made of Buffalo black hide while beautiful and more convenience and durable rose wood handle is attached with blade. It has 13 inches long blade and 5.5″ long handle. The spine of the kukri is 4mm from the bolster where the widest part of the blade is 3.5cm. The cutting edge(bevel) is 8mm for better chopping. It weighs only 400grams. The total shipping weight including packing will 1 kg All my kukris are traditional handmade kukri, made in Nepal, and not the usual export and tourist kukri found on many other collection. Creation Nepal Crafts strives to make kukri to the traditional specifications as per the original models. I strongly recommend that the wooden parts on all kukri are treated with the appropriate oil and wood treatment prior to use. Please note that because all of my kukris are hand-made, variances in size, weight, wood colour, chakmak & karda style etc may well occur. This kukri is a very functional for fighting piece. Product Dimensions:: Overall Length: 18.5 inches •Blade: The blade is made of high graded Carbon steel and has been poured the cold-water temper on the blade that makes the blade very strong. Thickness at spine of the blade is about 5mm from bolster and gradually drops toward the tip and edge of the blade. It’s 13″ Long. The widest part of blade is 3.5cm at the middle of the blade. The total weight of the blade (and handle) is about 400 grams. •Handle: The Steel fittings handle is made of beautiful stripped through very hard rose wood and it has 5.5 inches long. This Khukuri however, has a uniquely distinct handle where the metal of the blade in the handle area is flat and not narrow and pointed as in other knives (full flat tang). • Scabbard: Beautiful flower engraved on the scabbards with typical wooden Sheath. It weighs about 225 grams. • Two small knives; Karda & Chak-mak: Every Khukuri comes with 2 small knives. The Chak-mak (blunt) is used as flint tool and sharpener the blade. Using the Chak-mak against the edge of the Khukuri to and fro does the traditional method of sharpening a Khukuri. The other knife accompanying Chak-mak is the Karda that is used for skinning purposes. Information of kukri: All the Kukris are handmade at Nepalese Khukuri House’s own factory in Nepal by Bishwakarmas(Burn to kukri makers) of the Kami caste. No machines used to work and shape this blade. They are hand forged and hammered. Therefore, sizes are given as very close approximations. Hand forging will produce slight variations. All the Kukris are made of high grade Carbon Steel and finished quality woods, horn and metal finishing. Our Kukris are REAL made by hereditary craftsmen, using genuine traditional techniques & implementations. Our Kukri is NOT Stainless Steel made. They are made of Carbon Steel.
