eBay Hand Made Brown Leather Sheath #3 Made of 8/9 oz Leather For knives with blades up to 1 ¾” wide by 7 ¼” long Hand Dyed brown Made in the USA We make these sheaths in house so these are Made in the USA. We buy full hides, clicker cut our patterns, sew and finish the sheaths from start to finish in our leather shop. This sheath is made from 8/9oz leather. It is glued and stitched with a welt to protect the blade edge from cutting through the edge depending on the design. We have burnished the edges to give the sheath a more professional look. Our leather sheaths are hand dyed with two different colors of dye. We had a choice of buying pre-dyed leather or dying by hand. Hand dying won (ahem…) hands down. Each sheath will look unique. You want your shoes to look identical. You want your sheaths to look different. We intentionally dye these by hand with antiquing and a variegated, mottled look. You will see spots in the finish (not in the leather) that look worn from years of care. We make them that way on purpose. After this we clear coat the outside with a leather acrylic finish. This adds some shine and helps repel water and stains. Finally, we coat the sheath with Classic brand wax and give each a thorough buffing. Again, this is all by hand. The resulting finish is a low satin sheen that has a deep luster with what appears to be several shades of browns and reds. The wax finish feels and looks fantastic in your hand. The sheath will have a custom look and feel. For quantities greater than 50, contact us for a custom production quote. If you aren’t absolutely pleased with how your looks or fits your knife send it back and we will refund or exchange it, your choice. Note: These sheaths are designed to fit certain style knives but some blade shapes and handles may vary. If the sheath you purchased doesn’t fit your knife, return it for a refund or exchange it for another style with no problem. Tip: You may want to wet form the sheath to give it a nice, custom fit. To form fit the sheath to your knife, soak the sheath in water until it is dripping wet. Set it aside and let the water run off until the leather is cool and damp. Put your knife into the sheath and using a bone folder, which is nothing more than a slick, round rod made of nearly anything, press the leather into the crease of the knife to wet form (stretch) the leather to mold around the knife. The idea is to mold the leather to form around the knife adding some eye appeal and basically locking the knife into place.
