Description: The item up for bids is a spectacular vintage studio art pottery table lamp featuring an art deco raven motif. It is a fairly large and heavy hand-thrown stoneware piece with a stylized oil jar form and a satiny matte speckled cream/taupe glaze. The intricate decoration is rendered in dark chocolate brown and graphite gray/black and features alternating panels with ravens and art deco sunbursts, all framed by striped bands. There are six ravens and six sunbursts. Each raven’s front claw appears to reach out and grip the striped lower band which gives the design a nice dimensionality. The harp, mounts, and socket are brass, as is the simple top hat finial (there is no shade, just the lamp as shown). It is signed on the base with an incised signature that looks like M / F. It’s a gorgeous lamp, have some fun and bid! Condition: As with all vintage lighting this lamp should be checked by your electrician prior to use. Due to its age it is being sold ‘as-is’ as seen in the photos, no guarantees or returns. It is in fair to good vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks. It shows age appropriate handling wear with scattered scuffs, scratches, and marks (photo 11 shows the worst example of the marks). The lamp turns on and off and I believe it has a three-way socket. The pictures are the best indicator as to condition, please use the zoom feature and check them out. Dimensions: The overall height is about 22-1/2″ tall to the top of the finial. The stoneware base is about 11-1/2 tall by about 10-1/2″ in diameter. The lamp weighs about 10-1/4 pounds.
