Previous inked ownership on ffep of “Cecil C. Cole, Captain, M.C. 1069” and in same hand “bought in Liverpool 30 May, 1945” with graphic bookplate inside front cover of Cole in knights armor and Greek inscription below. General Mainwaring served as battalion commander in India from 1896 until retirement in 1901.
