Description Epiphone / Inspired by Gibson Custom Kirk Hammett “Greeny” 1959 Les Paul Standard Greeny Burst [S/N 24021524510] The “Greeny” has finally been released by Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop! The Kirk Hammett “Greeny” 1959 Les Paul Standard Murphy Lab Aged released by the Custom Shop and the Kirk Hammett “Greeny” Les Paul Standard released by the USA are still fresh in our memory, but finally the Epiphone (Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop) brand has released a model that reproduces the legendary Les Paul! The story of the “Greeny” is very mysterious, but there are few guitars with such a glorious story. The “Greeny” is one of the most iconic original Les Paul Standards ever made, and in addition to the guitar’s fame, it is also characterized by its truly unique sound. Formerly owned by Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac), it was later sold to Gary Moore, who used it for 30 years as Thin Lizzy and as a solo artist. Currently owned by Kirk Hammett, the “Greeny” has been played by three legendary guitarists. Its distinctive sound is the phase sound (reverse phase) that is produced when the toggle switch is in the center position because the magnet of the neck pickup is inverted. The newly released Epiphone Kirk Hammett “Greeny” 1959 Les Paul Standard was developed through close collaboration between Epiphone and Gibson Custom Shop. Inspired by the legendary original “Greeny” used by Kirk Hammett, it has the same distinctive specifications as the original. It is equipped with the same Gibson USA Greenybucker pickup as the USA model, and of course the neck pickup is inverted. The neck shape also uses the Custom Greeny Profile, and the reflector knob on the rear side, the “Spade” button, and the Grover pegs are faithfully reproduced to the original. And the headstock shape is particularly noteworthy. Finally, Epiphone’s core models will also feature Gibson’s original “openbook” headstock, and the Epiphone Kirk Hammett “Greeny” 1959 Les Paul Standard will be the first model to do so. As a collaboration model with Gibson Custom Shop, it also features premium parts such as Switchcraft pickup selectors and output jacks, CTS potentiometers, and Mallory capacitors. This model is at the pinnacle of the Epiphone brand, allowing you to experience the “magic” of the legendary guitar “Greeny” not only in looks but also in sound and play feel.
