For consistently sharp results, the lens features built-in optical Image Stabilization, offering up to 5.5 stops of shake correction. When paired with an EOS R-series camera with In Body Image Stabilization (IBIS), the Coordinated IS allows for up to 6 stops of correction, ensuring clearer detail in low-light situations without the need to increase the ISO or decrease the shutter speed. The Canon RF 100-300mm F2.8 L IS USM Lens is equipped with a dual Nano USM focusing system, providing incredible focus speed and accuracy throughout the entire focus range. This design also contributes to the balanced weight of the lens, reducing fatigue during handheld use. The lens incorporates a Control Ring on the lens barrel for direct setting changes, including shutter speed, aperture, and exposure compensation. This feature adds a third dial to the EOS R camera’s main dial and quick control dial, enhancing user control and convenience. Despite its extensive features, the RF 100-300mm F2.8 L IS USM lens weighs just under 6 lbs, making it the lightest f/2.8 300mm zoom lens on the market. It also features a focus preset button near the back of the lens for easy reach, allowing you to pre-focus on a spot and immediately jump to the memorized position via the focus preset button. The lens is compatible with Extenders RF1.4x and RF2x, allowing you to expand the effective telephoto power to 140-420mm at f/4 with the Extender RF1.4x, or to 200-600mm at f/5.6 using the Extender RF2x. Built to L series lens specifications, the RF 100-300mm F2.8 L IS USM features a dust and water-resistant design with seals around the mount, switches, and rings.
