eBay Spool of wire from Sequoia Process Corp. — they made specialized Aircraft wire and cable in the mid 1950s — app. 2 1/2 pounds on the spool – my guess is a bit over 300 ft. — 18 awg / orange/green polyethylene insulation — spool measures 6 by 6 1/2 in. and is made of enameled steel — — under the first CEO Paul M. Cook, this company developed the process of irradiating wire that has become an industry standard for producing a product of exceptional quality — I do not know anything more about this wire or how it was treated but it is a very unusual and likely very rare bit of Irradiation History and the early history of Raychem and Aviation and Atomic/Nuclear history — — wear to the spool ends: one end is a bit rough with some rust patching — wire is ‘new old stock’ and unused — — info online: from Raychem site: Founding and Early Growth of Raychem Corporation “…While still at SRI (Stanford Research Institute), [Paul M.] Cook received permission to start an off-hours business operation to make electronic hook-up wire, which is used to connect electronic components.
